Eleven years after capturing the title at the 2015 Amundi Evian Juniors Cup with Team South Korea, Haeran Ryu has now claimed the ultimate prize at Évian, lifting the trophy of The Amundi Evian Championship. Her second major victory of the season, this remarkable achievement cements her place among the game's greats and etches her name forever in golf history.

Haeran Ryu – The New Queen of The Amundi Evian Championship

Some stories are reserved for the greatest sporting occasions. The Amundi Evian Championship delivered a new one this Sunday. Buoyed by her record-breaking round on Saturday, Hae Ran Ryu looked to have the tournament under control. But The Champions Course offered no favors, and neither did her rivals. Under pressure until the last putt, the Korean had to produce a crucial birdie on 18 before heading into a gripping play-off with Brooke Henderson, on outstanding form. After a breathtaking finale, Ryu claimed her second major championship title in two weeks. An extraordinary victory.
The day following her incredible round in 60 (-11), setting a new course record and the lowest score ever produced at a women’s major, Hae Ran Ryu experienced a more eventful day than expected. Struggling on the greens, the 25-year-old Korean saw her 3-shot lead disappear as a fired-up chasing pack, including a determined Aki Iwai and Brooke Henderson in sublime form, mounted the charge.
The Canadian, winner of the tournament in 2022, set the crowd alight with a spectacular comeback. A hole-in-one at the 8th and two eagles pushed Hae Ran Ryu to her limits right up to the 18th. A final eagle by Brooke Henderson reignited the suspense; a birdie from Hae Ran Ryu extended the battle into a play-off, won with composure on the first hole.
“It all feels like a dream”, declared the new star of Korean golf, as she was showered with champagne and held the trophy close. The little girl who dared to dream big at The Amundi Evian Juniors Cup 2015 knows that at Evian, dreams can come true. Even the biggest dreams.

Gazette 2026 - A Major Dream

A Major Ablaze. A Course on Fire. A Record for the History Books.
Round 3 of The Amundi Evian Championship delivered a scintillating display on The Champions Course. Under a blazing sun and in utterly still conditions, the world’s best players launched wave after wave of attacks. Yet only one truly set the course alight: Korea’s Hae Ran Ryu, who now stands alone at the top of the leaderboard at 19-under par.
One number tells the story of this unforgettable Saturday: 60.
Eleven under par, courtesy of a remarkable card featuring nine birdies and an eagle at the par-5 6th. The 25-year-old, fresh from her victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, set the tone from her very first hole before igniting a stunning run starting at the 5th: birdie, eagle, birdie. From that point on, she simply could not be stopped.
Birdie after birdie, the momentum built and the atmosphere became electric. Standing on the 18th tee, spectators held their breath, fully aware they were witnessing something extraordinary. An eagle chance even left the door open for the mythical 59. Instead, amid a deafening roar from the galleries, one final birdie sealed a historic 60 — a new Champions Course record, surpassing Hyo Joo Kim’s groundbreaking 61 in 2014, and the lowest score ever recorded in the history of women’s major championships.
Riding the wave of this extraordinary performance, Hae Ran Ryu (-19) heads into the final round with a three-shot lead over Japan’s Aki Iwai. Behind them, the battle promises to be fierce, with Mao Saigo and Brooke Henderson—who carded two eagles on Saturday—sharing third place at -12.
For the French contingent, Perrine Delacour (-6) remains the leading home hope and could still give local fans plenty to cheer about on what promises to be a red-hot final day.

Gazette 2026 - Major on Fire! 

Scorching sun. Relentless course. A leaderboard under pressure. Under the strain of a pivotal second round at The Amundi Evian Championship, the world’s 132 best players raised their game. At the top, the battle is heating up and the margins are tightening. Lottie Woad holds a narrow advantage, driven by a clear goal: turning last year’s podium finish into a major triumph. Behind her, two French players, Nastasia Nadaud and Perrine Delacour, have surged into the Top 10, keeping local hopes alive amid a star-studded field.
132 players teed it up, but only 66 survived. After two days of intense competition, the cut line, set at even-par 142, delivered its verdict.
The tone was set early. Jeeno Thitikul fired the round of the day with a brilliant 64, highlighted by an eagle and five birdies, to move within striking distance. The same score posted by Lottie Woad. A fitting parallel for two players who narrowly missed out on a podium finish last year and now appear ready to do whatever it takes to claim their first Major title.
Yet Woad took things one step further. With eight birdies and just one bogey, the Englishwoman moved into sole possession of the lead at 11-under-par, overtaking first-round leader Aki Iwai, who sits one shot back in second place.
On a leaderboard as deep as it is international, where Major champions are rubbing shoulders with a new generation chasing breakthrough success, former Amundi Evian Championship winners Anna Nordqvist and Brooke Henderson have joined the mix. From a French perspective, the presence of Nastasia Nadaud and Perrine Delacour near the top of the board, along with Pauline Roussin-Bouchard remaining firmly in contention, is sure to energize the galleries.
Meanwhile, Céline Boutier, the historic 2023 Evian champion, world No. 1 Nelly Korda, and defending champion Grace Kim have already seen their campaigns come to an end.
The stage is set for a thrilling weekend.

Cosmopolitan! A fitting word for The Amundi Evian Championship, where the world&#39;s finest players gather each year. Driven by the continued rise of Asian golf, players from Japan, Korea and China set the pace from the opening round, claiming half of the Top 14 positions on the leaderboard. Yet the tournament is far from decided. Energised by home support, France’s Perrine Delacour showed the way. An intense and resolutely international opening act, perfectly reflecting the only Major championship held in continental Europe.
Thrilling breakthroughs, tough setbacks, moments of brilliance and calculated course management: Round 1 of The Amundi Evian Championship delivered plenty of drama. Further strengthened by its latest strategic enhancements, the Champions Course showed little mercy to the 132 world-class players in the field. From the very first groups out, the Asian contingent made its presence felt. A true birdie-making machine, Japan’s Aki Iwai seized the clubhouse lead midway through the day with a superb 8-under-par 63. Close behind, Korea’s Hae Ran Ryu, buoyed by her recent victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, quickly found her stride. She sits tied for third at 3-under par alongside Mao Saigo (JPN), Jin Hee Im (KOR), Charley Hull (ENG) and Maja Stark (SWE).
The biggest emotion of the day, however, came from the French camp. Playing in front of her home crowd, Perrine Delacour produced a standout performance featuring an eagle at the 15th, six birdies and just two bogeys. Her impressive opening round leaves her alone in second place on the leaderboard. It was a more difficult day, however, for several pre-tournament favourites, including Nelly Korda (USA), Céline Boutier (FRA) and defending champion Grace Kim (AUS). Without a strong response, they could find themselves on the wrong side of the cut line by the end of play today.

As one of the premier events in women’s golf, The Amundi Evian Championship promises a thrilling 32nd edition, supported by an increased $9.1 million purse.
The world’s elite will be in attendance, led by the outstanding Nelly Korda, already a two‐time Major champion this season after victories at the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open, firmly established as the world’s No. 1.
Joining her is an exceptional field featuring defending champion Grace Kim, world No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul, 2014 champion and current world No. 3 Hyo Joo Kim, Céline Boutier, whose memorable victory in front of her home crowd in 2023 made history, and Lottie Woad.
At just 22 years old, the English star, now ranked world No. 4, had already turned heads by finishing third in the 2025 edition while still competing as an amateur.
Another player to watch is Hae Ran Ryu, who recently claimed the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship for the first Major title of her career. Her story has a special connection with Evian: the South Korean won The Amundi Evian Juniors Cup in 2015, both individually and with her team.

Two weeks ahead of the Major’s launch, which boasts a prize fund increased to $9.1 million, the final field of 132 players for The Amundi Evian Championship 2026 is nearly complete. This 32nd edition promises to be intense on one of the most prestigious stages in women’s world golf. The entire international hierarchy will be present, starting with the impressive Nelly Korda, already a two-time Major winner this season and firmly established at the top of world golf. Facing her is an exceptional line-up: defending champion Grace Kim, the ever-dangerous Jeeno Thitikul, Céline Boutier, the 2023 heroine, and rising prodigy Lottie Woad, who finished third in 2025 while still an amateur, a true source of inspiration for younger players.
Remaining true to its commitment to the next generation, the tournament opens the doors of the Major to tomorrow’s champions, emerging professionals and international amateurs, alongside the world’s best players. This recognition of talent is driven by a desire to pass on knowledge, reflected in demanding selection criteria and targeted invitations.
At the heart of this highly competitive field, six players have received wildcard entries: one professional, Sayaka Takahashi (JPN), and five amateur: Aphrodite Deng (CAN), the youngest player in the 2026 field (16), Farah O’Keefe (USA), Kiara Romero (USA), Asterisk Talley (USA), and the amateur crowned at the Arnold Palmer Cup on July 6.
Two other young amateurs will also compete thanks to their victories: Maria Jose Marin (COL, 19), winner of the 2025 Women’s Amateur Latin America Championship and the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship, and Yunseo Yang (KOR, 18), winner of the 2025 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific. One more name is still unknown: the winner of the British Ladies Amateur Championship on June 27.
Who will lift the trophy awarded to the best among them at this Major? The answer will come on Sunday, July 12.

APHRODITE DENG - (Canada, 16) 
At just 16 years old, Aphrodite Deng, the youngest player in The Amundi Evian Championship field this week, is already a global sensation. Ranked No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), the Canadian impresses with her precocity and top-level performances, including a victory at the 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior and a strong 17th-place finish at the U.S. Women’s Open. Named AJGA Girls’ Junior Player of the Year, she embodies the future of women’s golf with boldness and talent.
ASTERISK TALLEY - (USA, 17) 
Asterisk Talley, 17, already shows exceptional maturity. A future Stanford player, she has made a remarkable start to the year by making the cut in all her professional tournament appearances, including the U.S. Women’s Open and the Chevron Championship. Consistent, solid, and ambitious, she is emerging as a rising star to watch very closely.
YUNSEO YANG - (Korea, 18) 
At just 18, Yunseo Yang represents the new Korean wave brilliantly. Winner of the 2026 Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific Championship, she has made her mark among both professional and amateur elites, earning low amateur honors at the Chevron Championship and finishing 4th at the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur. A regular on the KLPGA circuit, she combines freshness with experience, making her a formidable outsider.
MARIA JOSE MARIN - (Colombia, 19)
 A 19-year-old Colombian prodigy, Maria Jose Marin is already established as a leading figure in global amateur golf. Currently ranked No. 5 in the WAGR, she is piling up major successes with victories at the 2025 Women’s Amateur Latin America Championship and the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur. A student at the University of Arkansas, she combines power, precision, and maturity. Having competed at TAEC in 2025 (T70), she returns with valuable experience and heightened ambitions.
KIARA ROMERO - (USA, 20)
The world No. 1 amateur as of June 23, 2026, with two collegiate victories this season, Kiara Romero is now the benchmark of her generation. At 20, the American impresses with her consistency and ability to compete with professionals, as shown by her 6th-place finish at the U.S. Women’s Open. A student at the University of Oregon, she is just one step away from earning her LPGA Tour card. After the Arnold Palmer Cup, a simple cut could be enough. A player on the verge of breaking into the elite—just like the talented Lottie Woad before her.
FARAH O’KEEFE - (USA, 20) 
A rising figure in American collegiate golf, Farah O’Keefe shines for the University of Texas. At 20, she already has four victories this season, demonstrating impressive consistency. Winner of the prestigious Annika Women’s Award, she can turn every opportunity into performance.
SAYAKA TAKAHASHI - (Japan, 27)
At 27, Sayaka Takahashi represents experience and performance. A member of the Amundi Team since 2022, the Japanese player has a solid record with four victories on the JLPGA Tour, including two in April 2026. Always competitive in major events, she also made the cut at the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open. An established player, capable of competing with the best on any stage.

The world’s elite faces the passion of a new generation.

On the occasion of its 2026 edition, The Amundi Evian Championship is partnering with Trackman to launch an international virtual challenge aimed at amateur golfers.
Running from June 26 to July 9, 2026, the competition will take the form of a closest-to-the-pin challenge on Hole No. 5 at Evian Resort Golf Club, faithfully recreated using Trackman technology. The challenge will be available on indoor simulators as well as at facilities equipped with Trackman Range.
Each participant will have four shots to place the ball as close as possible to the pin. All performances are automatically recorded and featured on a global leaderboard.
Open to amateur golfers aged 13 and above, participation requires a Trackman account in order to be eligible for the leaderboard ranking.

<h3>An on-course experience as the grand prize</h3>
The winner will receive two spots in the “5th Round”, held on the Monday following the final round of the 2027 tournament. This exclusive experience offers the opportunity to play the course under conditions similar to those faced during competition, the day after the official event concludes.
Players finishing from 2nd to 8th place will receive a pin flag signed by The Amundi Evian Championship players.
The leaderboard will be determined based on distance to the pin, calculated in accordance with Trackman closest-to-the-pin rules. In the event of ties or multiple hole-in-ones, additional precision metrics or a random draw may be used to determine the final standings.
With this initiative, the tournament introduces a complementary activation combining golf performance and technology, accessible to a broader audience in the lead-up to the event.
