After the Jabra Ladies Open in May, and The Amundi Evian Championship in July, the Evian Resort Golf Club is now hosting a number of youth events.
 
August 23 and 24: The Evian U14 Major Youth Grand Prix
Every year, the Evian Resort Golf Club and its 18-hole course The Champions Course welcome the best U14 players for the U14 Grand Prix Jeunes Majeur. Last year, Hugo Le Goff and Zoé Rubichon won respectively in the boys and girls category, after two rounds of competition; in the league ranking, the victory went to Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes.
The participants of this Grand Prix Jeunes Majeur will compete in Evian a few weeks before another competition, this time with an international dimension, which will gather the best U14 in the world: The Amundi Evian Juniors Cup.
 
From September 20 to 22: The Amundi Evian Juniors Cup
Since 2007, the fifteen editions of The Amundi Evian Juniors Cup have revealed the talents of today, professionals like Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, or Aditi Ashok and Leona Maguire to name only 5, or the best amateurs in the world like Rose Zhang (1st in the World Amateur Golf Ranking).
After the victory of the French team in 2021, the greatest hopes of the various international federations will return to challenge each other during 3 days to seize this prestigious title.
 
September 24 and 25: The Haribo Kids Cup Grand Final
The Haribo Kids Cup is the most important golf competition for children under 12 years old in France. It was created in 2010 by Sandrine Mendiburu and is fully part of "The Amundi Evian Championship" hosted by the Evian Resort Golf Club.
After the 10 regional qualifiers, the grand finale of this competition will be held on the two Evian courses: The Lake Course (a 6 par 3 course) and The Champions Course (the Major course), during the last weekend of September 2022

The world number 10 Brooke M. Henderson (CAN) is the happy winner of the event. In Haute-Savoie, on a course which had already seen her in the top 25 five times and twice in the top 10, the now two times major championship winner gave a masterclass in perseverance and mental strength. Brooke was already leading the tournament by the end of the second round following two rounds on 64 (-7) which included 14 birdies and an eagle. This weekend she held her place at the top of the leaderboard with rounds of 68 (-3) and 71 (par) before a final birdie on the 18th yesterday afternoon sealed her second Majors title.
The tournament teams would like, once again, to extend their congratulations to Brooke M. Henderson on her superb victory this week and the rest of the players for their efforts and performances on The Champions Course here at the Evian Resort Golf Club.

Highlights of the week
Thursday
On her second appearance at The Amundi Evian Championship, the young Japanese player, Ayake Furue (22), was in control of the tournament at the end of the first day. Her smile and grace illuminated Thursday 21st July with a stupendous score of 63 (-8) thanks to the 9 birdies she produced across the round. After a 4th place last year, she has reconfirmed her position as a serious competitor in Evian.
The first day of the major also witnessed magnificent campaign openers by the American Nelly Korda (64, -7), France’s Perrine Delacour (66, -5) and the eventual victor, Canadian Brooke M. Henderson, (64, -7).
 
Friday
Red and white were definitely the colors of success for the players defending them in Haute-Savoie. First the Japanese and then the Canadian flag flew at the top of the leaderboard. The home of the maple leaf put its best foot forward with Brooke M. Henderson (#10 in the world) who carded a second consecutive 64 (-7), moving into the lead at midpoint. Although she doesn’t yet know it, it’s a position she will (almost) not leave again until the end of the championship.
In contrast, 2012 champion Inbee Park (KOR) missed the cut at Evian for the first time in her career. A long shot for a birdie on the 18th failed to hit its mark and she was eliminated from the competition with just 1 shot too many. The 34-year-old, winner of 7 Grand Slam titles, may soon be putting her clubs according to recent media reports.
Saturday 
Time goes by for other players too, but doesn’t always seem to be an issue, as So-Yeon Ryu (KOR) demonstrated on this moving day. The two-time major winner continues to perform at a high level and returned to the clubhouse with a brilliant 65&nbsp;(-6). She is two years younger than her fellow South Korean Inbee Park and took over the job of defending their country’s colors. Three rounds of 67&nbsp;(-4), 66&nbsp;(-5) and 65&nbsp;(-5) put her back within two strokes of the leader Brooke M. Henderson and raised her hopes of ending a five-year dry run at the major tournaments (winner of the 2011 US Women’s Open and the 2017 ANA Inspiration).
Defending champion Minjee Lee (AUS) had a much tougher week. She was ranked 58th going into the final round and had to settle for an honorary role this year after recording a timid 73&nbsp;(+2) on Saturday. Sunday 
Starting her last round with a superb birdie on the 1st hole, So-Yeon Ryu (KOR) set herself up perfectly for this final sprint. It put her on level pegging with her co-competitor of the day, Brooke M. Henderson, who conceded a bogey on the same hole. Both players struggled on the greens of Evian, making hesitant putts, but things started to change on the 5th green. The experienced 32-year-old South Korean needed four putts six meters from the hole and never regained the confidence she had demonstrated throughout the first three rounds. It was a difficult experience for the player ranked 51st in the world, who nonetheless finished eighth in the tournament.
 
As we said, Brooke M. Henderson was also having trouble with her putting on Sunday. The Canadian never lost her focus on the game, however, and her patience finally paid off on the 14th green, which marked a second turning point in this final round. The Amundi Evian Championship congratulates Brooke M. Henderson, the winner of the 2022 event, the second Major of her career, six years after her victory at the LPGA Championship 2016. At -17 overall, she beat the American world number 283 Sophia Schubert by one stroke.
A few deep breaths starting off at the first hole, a line down the middle of the fairway to begin her final round and the leader Brooke M. Henderson (CAN) commenced her last 18 holes of the week, her ambition to raise the trophy at the end. The young 24-year-old Canadian took time to get into her stride, needing 3 putts on hole 1 which saw her immediately lose her two-stroke lead over her direct opponent and co-competitor of the day, So-Yeon Ryu (KOR). The European stars decorating her scorecard didn’t change a thing, the strength provided by memories of the Solheim Cup that they represented, nor her many supporters, the player from Clamart (France) will not be present this weekend.
The French crowd were however buoyed up thanks to the show offered by Perrine Delacour (FRA) this morning. For her ninth season on the LPGA Tour and her third participation at Evian, the experienced French 28-year-old finds herself amongst the best players on the planet. While she didn’t do quite so well as yesterday (66, -5), she hung on throughout her round to finally sign a bogey-free 68 (-3). A perfect illustration of all the determination she is showing this week, the authoritative par on 13, where she nevertheless left herself several meters to avoid conceding a shot to the course. This evening, she’s the best French player on the leaderboard, with Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (FRA) in 54th place and Agathe Laisné (FRA) in 70th. Of the French players, only Céline Boutier will be absent tomorrow.
 
H.J. Kim in contention, Furue flagging
The beauty of the surroundings and the quality of the greens are traditions at Evian. It looks like Hyo-Joo Kim’s (KOR) performances will soon become another. The 27-year-old South Korean is once again placed in prime position to attack the lead during the weekend of the major in Haute-Savoie. Winner of the 2014 championship, she has dominated the fairways of The Champions Course for so long that it has become normal for her to stack up sub-70 score cards. This week has been no exception to the rule. After an unobtrusive yet solid opening score of 68 (-3) on Thursday, this morning saw her hand in a card of 66 (-5), keeping the leader (6 shots ahead) firmly in her sights. Ranked 8th in the world and with three birdies in the final four holes of the second round (the 4th birdie narrowly missed on a 1-metre putt at the 18th), she is one of the players to keep a close eye on this weekend. Not forgetting that she currently holds the course record (since its reconstruction in 2013) with a stupendous 10 shots under par (61) scored during the first round of her very first Evian campaign.
Ayaka Furue (JPN) was less comfortable today. The Japanese prodigy struggled and has to settle for 11th place this evening. Top of the leaderboard after the first round thanks to a score of 63 (-8) peppered with 9 birdies, this morning she shot 72 (+1). Despite the lack of success and an agitated back nine, she kept smiling and maintained the constant good humor for which she is known in the United States throughout the 18 holes and even laughed at her own first widely missed putt on the 15th green.
Noteworthy at the top of the leaderboard are Carlotta Ciganda (ESP), winner of the Ladies European Tour at home in Spain two weeks ago, with her second 67 (-4) and the remarkable performances produced by South Korea’s Sei Young Kim and So Yeon Ryu, both sitting on a total of 9 under par. The Americans Sophia Schubert and Andrea Lee are just off the podium on -8.

 - After a first-round 70 (-1), the defending champion Minjee Lee (AUS) is in a better position thanks to carding 69 (-2) this afternoon. She is in 30th place after the second round. 
 
- No miracles for Ariya Jutanugarn (THA). After her first-round 77 (+6), the Thai player nevertheless gave a good fight and shot 67 (-4) today. Her sister Moriya carded 70 (-1) for the second time and will take on The Champions Course again tomorrow.
- Lydia Ko (NZL) and Jin-Young Ko (KOR) are neck and neck in 11th place. The two former winners of the major are on 7-under after the first two days. 
 
- Defeated in a play-off at the 2021 tournament, Jeongeun Lee6 (KOR) had two complicated rounds (71 ; 79) and won't be at the tournament for the weekend.
- Rose Zhang is in 22nd place on the leaderboard after shooting 68 (-3) for the second time. She lives up to her status as world number 1 amateur, currently the best of them this week, one shot ahead of her compatriot Anna Davies (USA). Nine amateurs were at the start with only three left this weekend.
- For the first time of her career, Inbee Park (KOR) misses the cut in Evian. Recent media sources have announced the imminent retirement from the tour of the 34-year-old South Korean, who looked much less comfortable than usual on the greens.&nbsp; Her aggregate score of +1 (72 ; 71) is not enough and she misses the cut by one shot.
