For the 30th anniversary of the tournament, we will finally see the crème de la crème of women's golf perform on the magnificent Champions Course. The Amundi Evian Championship 2024 will begin on Thursday, July 11th, and will crown the fourth Major winner of the season. A true celebration of golf in a setting as green as it is exceptional, all enhanced by the quality play of the world's best. Here’s the program you can look forward to.

Golf and Haute-Savoie have a long love story. Thirty years ago, in 1994, the first edition of the former Evian Masters was born, driven by Antoine and Franck Riboud. Laura Davies and the great champions of the time participated in this new tournament, which was integrated into the Ladies European Tour from its inception. It was here that a true tradition took root, as some of the most illustrious representatives of the discipline have since claimed the trophy. Annika Sörenstam, a two-time winner of the event (2000 & 2002), recalls: "I have so many wonderful memories of Evian over the years. I remember it started as a small LET event, then became an LPGA event, and today a Major." She adds: "I would say my fondest memory there is my eagle on our first playoff hole with Karrie Webb in 2000." Ultimately, it was the Swedish player who took the grail, securing her 21st career victory.

The year 2000 also marked a significant enhancement of the competition, with prize money increasing from $689,000 to $1,800,000. A fitting reward for one of the key - soon to be Major - events on the circuit, long considered the "5th Grand Slam". It officially became a Major in 2013. That year, the new Evian Championship marked the 19th edition of the historic tournament in more ways than one. Indeed, the course was completely redesigned, the prize money soared once again, and the Evian Resort Golf Club became the venue for the only Major in continental Europe. Suzanne Pettersen, the 2013 winner, recounts: "Wrapping myself in the Norwegian flag on the 18th green will forever remain in my heart! One of my wishes is for the Major to continue being a driving force for promoting women's golf."

Indeed, far beyond a mere sporting event, The Amundi Evian Championship is a celebration of women's golf, its values, and its ecosystem. In this spirit, the tournament's sponsors' club has grown this season, leading to a significant increase in the prize fund, now set at $8 million. This perpetual growth in resources embodies the tournament team's various ambitions: to continue shining a global spotlight on the sport, to anchor itself even more in the ecological transition, and to give the Major a leading role in the game's growth.

This is something Rose Zhang, a well-known face of the Amundi Evian Galaxy (Kids Cup, Juniors Cup, Showcase, AJGA, Arnold Palmer Cup), remembers well, having participated in many of its events: "My wish for the next 30 years is for The Amundi Evian Juniors Cup to be associated with the Major so that there is a junior component, as I remember how memorable it was for me." The current world No. 9 is well aware of the fantastic springboard it was for her. Today, surrounded by the greatest players, she is writing her own story, among a fantastic lineup of 132 players ready to compete starting next Thursday.

Last year, we celebrated Céline Boutier's resounding triumph. The French player enchanted golf lovers worldwide with her talent and definitively won the hearts of all the French supporters who came to cheer her on. For the next thirty years, she hopes the Major will continue to "create incredible memories in the golf world and inspire all young people to play golf and dream." Needless to say, this 2024 edition, preceding the Paris Olympics and whose final round will take place on Bastille Day, will go down in tournament history. For its 30th anniversary, it needed at least this!
