From Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th July 2023, The Amundi Evian Championship, one of the five Grand Slam tournaments in women’s golf, returns to the fairways at the Evian Resort Golf Club. The 2023 field will bring together the world’s leading players and the tournament board has just announced the six invitations granted to three experienced professionals, already winners on the international tours, and three talented young amateurs. A wonderful opportunity for these young players to compete in the 2023 edition of the major, for which the eligibility criteria are increasingly stringent.

One week from the start of the major, with a purse of $6.5 million, of which one million for the winner, the final field of 132 players for The Amundi Evian Championship 2023 is almost complete. Just like the world Top 10, with an average age of 25, the line-up features talented, high-performance young players and a historic range of nationalities (35 nations at the 2023 major).

The 29th edition of the tournament promises to be hard-fought among the top women players in the world led by Jin Young Ko (KOR), along with Nelly Korda (USA), Lydia Ko (NZL), defending champion Brooke Henderson (CAN), recent major championship winners Lilia Vu (USA), Ruoning Yin (CHN) from Amundi Team Asia and Allisen Corpuz (USA), France’s Céline Boutier, the latest phenomenon Rose Zhang (USA) as well as up-and-coming names in the new generation. Amongst the 132 players, seven amateurs will also tee off motivated by the goal of holding high the new trophy created this year to reward the one who performs best at the major.

The wildcards have thus been awarded to six players, three professionals who have already won on the European and US professional tours and three amateurs with outstanding results and an average age of 22. Players, who for some of them, are returning to Evian where they have already taken part in The Amundi Evian Championship or competitions organized in the ecosystem dedicated to the world’s best young players as part of The Amundi Evian galaxy.
